Compare Wilson Art to Armstong Laminate Flooring

In 2009 I installed approximately 2000 sq/ft of Wilson Art Laminate Flooring and a 500 sq/ft of Armstrong Laminate Flooring. Within the 1st year there were failures in the joints of the Wilson Art product. The flooring separated at different locations. I contacted Wilson Art and they said it was an "installation" problem (the product wasn't installed correctly). But they could not tell me what I did wrong or where (I pulled the base for the inspection). I've waited 1.5 years so that I could compare it with the Armstrong Flooring. As of this time, the Armstrong Flooring has had no failures but the Wilson Art has continued to fail. Note that I paid $1.00 sq/ft more for the Wilson Art product.

It is clear to me that the Wilson Art Flooring that I installed does not compare to the Armstrong Flooring in product quality, even though I spent 25% more for it.

You can be your own judge, but it would be difficult for me to recommend any Wilson Art Laminate Products.

Kirk,The horizontal

Kirk,The horizontal board would go on first, and what I found wrkoed best was to install the top piece next. In areas where I was replacing the trim under existing siding, I simply held it up and used a nail gun to shoot nails up through the bottom of the top piece at an angle. In an area where I was installing it before the siding, I tacked in some spacers and/or temporary horizontal supports and then shot nails down at an angle. Both ways seemed to work fine, and since the back of my top piece was cut to fit flush against the house, it held itself up pretty well. The crown molding was the last piece, just to cover the gap and to provide a little extra support for the top piece. Let me know if that wasn't clear by Abedmeskeen posted on Friday, October 02, 2015

My house has this sa

My house has this same three piece set up of drip cap, crown molding, and hiatzonorl board. I also need to replace some of the drip cap along with the crown molding underneath it. I have not removed any of the damaged pieces yet, so I'm wondering about its construction.Where do the nails go to hold this all together? Or restated, how are the drip cap and crown molding held together and to the house? What is the order for their installation? Thanks. by Silina posted on Friday, October 02, 2015

The mantle looks fnt

The mantle looks fnttasaic! I can't tell how you attached the mantle to the wall/bricks. Did your husband have to nail or bolt anything into the wall, or is it just the caulking or glue securing it to the wall? I'm hoping I can pull this off :) by Gustavo posted on Friday, October 02, 2015
